What’s new?
1) Listen411 - new UI design
We just polished the homepage of Listen411.com a bit -

We launched a dedicated site to chronicle the ongoing (big & small) updates from Listen Notes, Inc. This new site is hosted at no cost, thanks to microfeed.org (opensource cms built by us) and Cloudflare -
Currently, there are several micro-sites of Listen Notes, Inc. powered by microfeed.org for FREE & serverless:
Brand Assets: brand-assets.listennotes.com
Mascot site: llamacorn.listennotes.com
Changelog: changelog.listennotes.com
and microfeed.org itself
3) Migrated ~10TB data to Cloudflare R2
For the past 7+ years, we've been storing tons of data—over 10 TB—in AWS S3. This month, we undertook a major project to migrate those ~10 TB of data from S3 to Cloudflare R2, aiming for more cost-effective storage solutions.
To ensure a smooth transition, we have also updated our Django codebase to support multiple Storages (including S3, R2, and potentially others in the future).
4) Removed Google Podcasts urls
As of April 2, 2024, Google Podcasts has been discontinued by Alphabet Inc. Thus, we have removed all Google Podcasts URLs from ListenNotes.com and PodcastAPI.com accordingly.
5) Misc
Enhanced the infra of the Code Playground on PodcastAPI.com's Docs page. The previous system, built with Docker on a shared server, experienced instability issues such as unexplained hangs. We have now migrated to a dedicated server, which should provide a more stable environment and improved Docker performance.
Transitioned away from Stripe's invoice-based billing for our recurring charges. This change is to reduce our transaction fees by 0.5% for each transaction - big cost savings!
