Monthly update for August 2020

Performance & Security improvements.

Hi there!

This is the 35th full month (almost 3 YEARS!) that I worked on Listen Notes full-time. Hope you are doing well and staying safe!

Product updates

1, [Performance] Reduced network response time dramatically for people outside US.

2, [Performance] Reduced the amount of ads from our website, so website visitors can have a better experience (e.g., faster page load, less interruption by ads).

3, [Security] Properly set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for @listennotes.com email. Also set up DNSSEC for listennotes.com domain.

4, [Security] Implemented a system to better detect & block malicious bots that use headless browsers to scrape our site. reCaptcha v2 & v3 are used.

5, Worked with a designer to do a few more Llamacorn illustrations, e.g., on the API page.

Company updates

Worked with our attorney to draft a more formal sales agreement for some paid products.

We are also working with a design agency to polish our website UI. Stay tuned!
